Thank you for volunteering to lend your voice! As part of an education project at IT for Change, we are collecting voice samples to train a computer to recognize the letters of the English alphabet 'A' to 'Z' spoken with Indian accents. This data is being collected for non-commercial, educational use, and when we have collected a sufficient number of samples, the dataset may be made publicly available for non-commercial educational use only. The recording you will submit is anonymous. No data other than your voice is collected. Tap or click the button below to record. Read the instructions carefully before you begin.
- Speak the letters A - Z, one by one
- Speak CLEARLY each letter as you would normally pronounce them
- Leave a gap of about 3 seconds between any two letters
- Pronounce Z as the Indian 'zed', not the American 'zee'
- Minimize any background noise when you record
- You have a maximum of 3 minutes to record. Please do not speak anything else in the recording.
- Once you tap on the 'Record' button, your browser may request for microphone access. Allow the browser to access your device microphone. Your 3-minute countdown timer will then begin.
- When you are done, tap/click the 'Stop' button to finish the recording, and do not forget to send your recording! Submit your recording using the red 'Submit my voice sample' button.
