IT for Change<\/b> along with Centre for Internet and Society (CIS), Digital Empowerment Foundation, Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan<\/b> and the National Campaign for People\u2019s Right to Information (NCPRI)<\/b> organized a workshop on \u2018Democratic Accountability in the Digital Age\u2019, on November 14-15th in New Delhi.<\/p>\n

The workshop<\/a> was a great starting point in being able to bring together a coalition of committed and invested individuals, and begin a comprehensive dialogue about a framework for democratic accountability in the digital age. The Charter on Democratic Accountability in the Digital Age<\/b> is a step to consolidate the emerging dialogue on data governance\/ data in governance. As a document, it was born out of the group discussions and debates in the November workshop, and our larger research and advocacy efforts into citizen voice.<\/p>\n

The draft charter is currently available on google docs<\/a> for review and comment.<\/p>\n

In a bid to take the momentum from the workshop forward and open up the charter to deliberation and enrichment, IT for Change  organized a<\/span> Round Table<\/a> on March 11, 2017 in Bangalore.The round table involved a day of discussions and debate over the issues raised in the charter.<\/b><\/p>\n

A civil society coalition, which emerged in the course of the round table which will work on developing the charter further and put together research and advocacy plan for action in the next few months.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
